译文
深秋来了，落木萧萧，原先茂密的树林看上去变得稀疏了。但是，那山上的红叶，还有那即将谢去的芙蓉，这时却格外惹人喜爱。周围的群山，造化成了秋天的屏障，一重一重，千姿百态的呈现在我们面前。
晚霞被遮断，夕阳斜照在山坡上，山腰间又忽然显露出悠悠然的令人神往的亭榭。
啊，多么美好的景色呵！画船上的艄公，请你慢慢的划，让我再看看。唱歌的，请继续唱，不要停下来。写诗的，请乘着自己兴致，尽情的写吧，千万不要停笔。

西湖杂咏·秋鉴赏
这首写西湖秋景的小令，一开始渲染深秋景色，稀疏树林，被秋霜染红的枫叶，将要凋谢的木芙蓉。但是，作者要强调的，不是这萧瑟的景象，而是天然装点成的秋天特有的重重叠叠的山峦的可爱。深秋时节，有的树木虽然落叶，而不落叶的树木依然翠绿，加上经霜的红叶，那秋山被点缀得何等斑斓，因而使人没有丝毫伤感。接着写晚霞映在山坡上，写山腰间蓦然露出的亭榭，晚霞前用一个“断”字，亭榭前用一个“闪”字，这都使自然界的景象机趣盎然，活灵活现，令人感到仪态万方，千姿百态。在亭榭闪出后，又用一个“闲”字。一“闪”一“闲”，既蓦然，又悠然，想象丰富，意境悠远。作者薛昂夫是维吾尔族诗人，对汉文化造诣颇深。当时的评论者称“其诗词新严飘逸”（王德渊《薛昂夫诗集序》），就这首小令而言，也可见他的文字功夫非同一般。

薛昂夫(1267—1359) 元代散曲家。回鹘（即今维吾尔族）人。原名薛超吾，以第一字为姓。先世内迁，居怀孟路（治所在今河南沁阳）。祖、父皆封覃国公。汉姓为马，又字九皋，故亦称马昂夫、马九皋。据赵孟頫《薛昂夫诗集序》（《松雪斋文集》），他曾执弟子礼于刘辰翁(1234～1297)门下，约可推知他生年约在元初至元年间。历官江西省令史，佥典瑞院事、太平路总管、衢州路总管等职。薛昂夫善篆书，有诗名，诗集已佚。诗作存于《皇元风雅后集》、《元诗选》等集中。
