译文
烟雾苍茫，风雨凄迷。岸边的花儿已凋谢，只听得鹧鸪声声啼。远方的来客乘着一叶扁舟靠近荒野渡口。这种地方最容易引发阵阵乡愁。看江上潮水已退水面平静，时间已到暮春时候。
注释
南乡子：原唐教坊曲名，后用作词牌名。原为单调，有二十七字、二十八字、三十字各体，平仄换韵。
漠漠：烟雾迷蒙的样子。杜甫《茅屋为秋风所破歌》：“俄倾风定云墨色，秋天漠漠向昏黑。”
凄凄：寒凉貌。《诗经·郑风·风雨》：“风雨凄凄，鸡鸣喈喈。”
鹧（zhè）鸪（gū）：鸟名。形似雌雉，头如鹑，胸前有白圆点，如珍珠。背毛有紫赤浪纹。足黄褐色。以谷粒、豆类和其他植物种子为主食，兼食昆虫。为中国南方留鸟。古人谐其鸣声为“行不得也哥哥”，诗文中常用以表示思念故乡。
扁（piān）舟：小船。临野渡：靠近荒野渡口处。
水平：水面平静。

南乡子·烟漠漠鉴赏
这首《南乡子》，是一幅着墨不多的水墨画，一片江乡暮春景色，却被作者弄得满纸春愁。说起来，烟当然漠漠，而雨却未见得人人都觉得凄凄。以愁眼看世界，雨不免凄凄。至于岸花零落，当然是自然现象，但斯时也故有斯落也。它自落它的，根本不买任何人的账，看落花泛乡愁的人，即使给他看花开，他也只会看到“愁”。有人说，这是点明时间，却没有想到乡愁与时间全不相干，没有任何人可以证明，乡愁只能在某个时间段才会产生。作者只是把他无处发泄的思乡之情，像喷泉一样喷射，谁碰上也免不了变成“愁根恨苗”。作者的感情，使这些烟枝雨叶改变了它们的本来面目。只有这样，才能从这些被扭曲了的事物身上表现出作者内心的感情。
此词给读者的是“愁云恨雨，满目凄清”的感觉，而拆碎下来，却是烟、雨、落花与鹧鸪的叫声而已。但就在开头这十三个字里，却使人觉得这些碎玉零珠滚滚而来，既是互相连贯，又能互相配合。说到底，这都是作者那条感情丝线上悬挂的琼瑶，它们是由感情组织在一起的。
这首词属于“单调小令”，但它有个特色，那就是前十三字用平韵，后十七字换仄韵。从韵脚的改变，使人产生一种分了上下片的错觉。实际上这首词在行文方面也的确如此。前十三字，以比兴见作者情思；后十七字，用叙述方式说明上文的情思是自己的乡愁。在韵脚上似断，而在文字和内容上却一气呵成。
野渡扁舟，水平潮退，是不得不思乡处，客路风雨，又值春意阑珊，又是不得不思乡之时。野渡凄寂无人，不堪鹧鸪之啼也。前后照应，结构完整，字少思深，平易感人。

李珣（855？-930？），五代词人。字德润，其祖先为波斯人。居家梓州（四川省三台）。生卒年均不详，约唐昭宗乾宁中前后在世。少有时名，所吟诗句，往往动人。妹舜弦为王衍昭仪，他尝以秀才预宾贡。又通医理，兼卖香药，可见他还不脱波斯人本色。蜀亡，遂亦不仕他姓。珣著有琼瑶集，已佚，今存词五十四首，（见《唐五代词》）多感慨之音。）
