译文
这世间充满闲愁，所见所闻没有乐事，皆是悲苦。眼前虽是相聚，明年肯定又要送别你了。从今夜开始细数，到明年分离时还有多少相聚的时候呢。
浅酒无别人可劝，惟你能劝；深情无别人可知，也只有你才能知道。春天将尽，东边的溪山风景秀丽，可以与你同游，去观赏那江水中倒映柳树的影子和隐在雪中的梅花零落。
注释
临江仙：词牌名，又称《鸳鸯梦》《雁后归》《庭院深深》。双调，上片五句，押三平韵，三十字；下片同，共六十字 [2]
“身外”二句：一作“身外闲愁空满眼，就中欢事常稀”。稀，一作“移”。
细从今夜数：一作“试从今夜数”。
相会：相聚。
浅酒欲邀谁劝：一作“浅酒欲邀谁共欢”。
东溪：泛指风景美好的地方。近，一作“尽”。

这首小词是酒席间的赠人之作，多是为友人所作。《小山词》中多写爱恋相思，此篇则例外。

临江仙·身外闲愁空满鉴赏
小晏多愁善感，对于人生，总是放不下他的思考，欢会之际难遣闲愁，春日临近顿生希望，悲愁与欢乐，聚合与离散，总是此消彼长起伏回旋，在他的心灵之中形成大大小小的波澜。这首《临江仙》词，就可以看作是他的感情长河中泛起的一朵浪花。
词的上片写的是与友人在一起的酒筵欢会，却以“眼中欢事常稀”来表现，使欢乐也蒙上一层愁苦的阴影。因为聚会稀少，故而特别珍惜；因为珍惜，故而更怕这段欢事的终结；因为怕它终结故而要仔细地数一数究竟还有多少个相聚的日子。作者真切地表述了细腻的心理活动，很是耐人寻味。
下片当以“东溪春近好同归”为核心，表述了作者对生活的取向和希望。“浅酒”与“深情”两句，就其句式与内涵而论，又是相互纠葛在一起的，这种笔法，本是《临江仙》词牌的一种约定俗成的习惯性的写作要求，其间有对比，有连结，或为对仗，或为互文。这两句是说：浅酒无别人可劝，惟君能劝；深情无别人可知，惟君能知。这样就把席间欢会的主客双方的亲密关系交代了出来。“东溪”，即东边的溪山，泛言风景秀丽之处，并不是实有的地名。选个好去处，携同归隐共赏春光，也就不会再有异地分离的情况了——这只不过是一种美好的愿望而已。最后两句是由“春近”二字引发出来的想象中的东溪美景：“柳垂江上影，梅谢雪中枝”。用十个字总写春景，并不容易。选材欲其美，大概至少须得做到这么几点方能合乎要求。

晏几道（1030-1106，一说1038—1110 ，一说1038-1112），男，汉族，字叔原，号小山，著名词人，抚州临川文港沙河（今属江西省南昌市进贤县）人。晏殊第七子。历任颍昌府许田镇监、乾宁军通判、开封府判官等。性孤傲，晚年家境中落。词风哀感缠绵、清壮顿挫。一般讲到北宋词人时，称晏殊为大晏，称晏几道为小晏。《雪浪斋日记》云：“晏叔原工小词，不愧六朝宫掖体。”如《鹧鸪天》中的“舞低杨柳楼心月，歌尽桃花扇底风”等等词句，备受人们的赞赏。
