系门前柳影兰舟，烟满吟蓑，风漾闲钩。石上云生，山间树老，桥外霞收。玩青史低头袖手，问红尘缄口回头。醉月悠悠，漱石休休，水可陶情，花可融愁。
蟾宫曲·山间书事鉴赏
这支曲子写隐居生活。曲中这位“烟满吟蓑，风漾闲钩”的渔翁，应该就是作者自己的写照。但他决不是只靠打鱼谋生的不识字的真渔夫。他游逸于山水之间，不再过问世事；读古史只为了消闲而不加评判，对现实则“缄口回头”，更不管其是是非非。一心只求醉赏明月，让水陶情，净化心灵，以花消愁，愉悦身心。从“玩青史低头袖手，问红尘缄口回头”及“水可陶情，花可融愁”数句中可以看出，他平静的外表下，还藏着一颗士大夫的心。
全曲语言平易，淡入淡出。质朴澹泊的艺术风格，与所咏林泉生活的内容鱼水相谐，作者的艺术素养，正是从平淡中显露出来的。作者遣词造句的功力也不同一般。如“风漾闲钩”句中的一个“漾”字，把微风鼓荡之态及渔翁志不在鱼的神情点染得悠然如见，极为传神。几处对仗，也都工致自然，毫不费力。朱权《太和正音谱》谓“吴西逸之词，如空谷流泉”，可谓深得三昧。

[元]（约公元一三二〇年前后在世）名、里、生卒年均不详，约元仁宗延祐末前后在世。其散曲《自况》云：“万倾烟霞归路，一川花草香车，利名场上我情疏。蓝田堪种玉，鲁海可操觚，东风供睡足。”可从中窥见其性情。散曲内容多写自然景物、离愁别恨或个人的闲适生活，风格清丽疏淡。阿里西瑛作嬾云窝成，自题殿前欢，西逸及贯云石等均有和作。西逸所作曲，今存小令四十余支。（见太平乐府）太和正音谱评为“如空谷流泉。”
