译文
自从分别之后，不知你已经到了何方？眼里心中都是凄凉与愁闷，生出不尽的忧愁！你越走越远，最后竟断了音信；江水是何等的宽阔，鱼儿深深地游在水底，我又能向何处去打听你的消息？
昨夜里大风吹得竹林处处作响，传递着深秋的韵律，每一片叶子的声响都似乎在诉说着怨恼。我有心斜倚着单枕，希望梦中能与你相遇，可惜梦做不成，无奈灯芯，又在秋风中燃成烬。
注释
鱼沉：古人有鱼雁传书之说，鱼沉，谓无人传言。
秋韵：即秋声。此谓风吹竹声。
攲（qī）：倚、依。
烬（jìn）：火烧剩余之物，此指灯花。

这首写别后相思愁绪之词，当为欧阳修早期所作，是以代言体（即女性第一人称方式）形式表达闺中思妇离情别绪的作品。

玉楼春·别后不知君远近鉴赏
这是一首别后相思愁绪之词，是作者的早期作品。它受五代花间词的影响，以代言体（即女性第一人称方式）形式表达了闺中思妇深沉凄婉的离情别绪。全词以景寓情，情景交融，词境委婉曲折、深沉精细而又温柔敦厚。
发端句“别后不知君远近”是恨的缘由。因不知亲人行踪，故触景皆生出凄凉、郁闷，亦即无时无处不如此。“多少”，“不知多少”之意，以模糊语言极状其多。三、四两句再进一层，抒写了远别的情状与愁绪。“渐行渐远渐无书”，一句之内重复叠用了个“渐”字，将思妇的想象意念从近处逐渐推向远处，仿佛去追寻爱人的足迹，而雁绝鱼沉，无处寻踪。“无书”应首句的“不知”，且欲知无由，她只有沉浸在“水阔鱼沉何处问”的无穷哀怨之中了。“水阔”是“远”的象征，“鱼沉”是“无书”的象征。“何处问”三字，将思妇欲求无路、欲诉无门的那种不可名状的愁苦，抒写得极为痛切。
词作从过片以下，深入细腻地刻划了思妇的内心世界，着力渲染了她秋夜不寐的愁苦之情。风竹秋韵，原是“寻常景物”，但在与亲人远别，空床独宿的思妇听来，万叶千声都是离恨悲鸣，一叶叶一声声都牵动着她无限愁苦之情。“故欹单枕梦中寻，梦又不成灯又烬”。思妇为了摆脱苦况的现实，急于入睡成梦，故特意斜靠着孤枕，幻想在梦中能寻觅到在现实中寻觅不到的亲人，可是梦终未成，而最后连那一盏作伴的残灯也熄灭了。“灯又烬”一语双关，闺房里的灯花燃成了灰烬，自己与亲人的相会也不可能实现，思妇的命运变得像灯花一样凄迷、黯淡。词到结句，哀婉幽怨之情韵袅袅不断，给人以深沉的艺术感染。
刘熙载云：“冯延巳词，晏同叔得其俊，欧阳永叔得其深。”此语精辟地指出了欧词婉约深沉的特点。以此词而言，这种风格表现得极为明显。全词抒情与写景兼融，景中寓婉曲之情，情中带凄清之景，将闺中思妇深沉凄绝的别恨表现得深曲婉丽，淋漓尽致。

欧阳修（1007－1072），字永叔，号醉翁，晚号“六一居士”。汉族，吉州永丰（今江西省永丰县）人，因吉州原属庐陵郡，以“庐陵欧阳修”自居。谥号文忠，世称欧阳文忠公。北宋政治家、文学家、史学家，与韩愈、柳宗元、王安石、苏洵、苏轼、苏辙、曾巩合称“唐宋八大家”。后人又将其与韩愈、柳宗元和苏轼合称“千古文章四大家”。
