双喜鹊，几报归期浑错。尽做旧愁都忘却，新愁何处着？
瘦雪一痕墙角，青子已妆残萼。不道枝头无可落，东风犹作恶。
谒金门·双喜鹊鉴赏
这是一首描写闺怨的词。选材虽传统，但由于作者以其高超的写作技巧及思妇的情感表现得极其凄婉深刻，因而令人震撼，百读不厌。
“双喜鹊，几报归期浑错。”表现了闺中人急迫盼望丈夫归来又极其失望的心情。在我国民俗中以喜鹊鸣叫为吉祥。“时人之家，闻鹊声皆以喜兆，故谓灵鹊报喜”（《开元天宝遗事》）。“几”极写闺中人的惊喜，失望、复惊喜复失望。久守空房、孤寂的少妇是多么的深情盼望丈夫早日归来啊。双喜鹊的双字极好地衬托出少妇的孤单，真是人不如禽。“尽做旧愁都忘却，新愁何处着？”假设旧愁可以忘记，即使旧日的愁苦都忘掉，眼前被引起的新愁烦又多得没有地方容纳了。“着”多解，这里当安置、容纳解。与该句句式相同的如北宋失调名词“苦恨春醪如水藻，闲愁无处着”，吴淑姬《小重山》词“心儿小，难着许多愁”。其中的“着”均为安置之意。（见张相《诗词曲语辞汇释》）。用委婉曲折的设问，把内心的悲凉苦楚表现得缠绵绯侧淋漓尽致，堪与辛弃疾《念奴娇》的“旧恨春江流不断，旧恨云山千叠”相比美。
过片描写了景物。“瘦雪一痕墙角，青子已妆残萼”，墙角的梅花凋谢了，孤零地沾在那里；几粒青而又小的梅子妆点着花的残萼。明显的暮春景色意味思妇的惜春自怜。雪，指白色的梅花，用“瘦”来形容如雪梅花，形象地写出了梅花的凋零衰败。清人况周颐在（《蕙风词话》）中赞扬作者“字新”欣赏其“瘦雪”的形容。“一痕”即写孤独，又蕴含空漠无依，“墙角”是环境的冷落，也是女主人公的写照。青春而逝，红颜将老，恰如流水年华一去不再，触景伤情，其内心深处的悲凉、无助无奈跃然纸上。“不道枝头无可落，东风犹作恶。”写景抒情，总括全篇，承上作结。虽然已是败花残枝，光秃秃的枝上已无花可落，寡情的东风却依然逞凶肆虐，继续摧残着孤寂无依的梅树。
此词上阕重在心理描写，对闺中人的深沉挚受、痴情盼望的刻画极其深刻。下阕重在景物，以花喻人，贴切自然。艺术上达到极高境界。况周颐在《蕙风词话》中评价王庭筠不同于一般金人词风，“间涉幽峭之书，绵邈之音”《谒金门》是词人艺术风格的代表作之一。

王庭筠（1151～1202）金代文学家、书画家。字子端，号黄华山主、黄华老人、黄华老子，别号雪溪。金代辽东人（今营口熊岳），米芾之甥。庭筠文名早著，金大定十六年（1176）进士，历官州县，仕至翰林修撰。文词渊雅，字画精美，《中州雅府》收其词作十六首，以幽峭绵渺见长。
