停嘶骑、歌眉送意。记晓色、东城梦里。紫檀晕浅香波细。肠断垂杨小市。
杏花天·咏汤鉴赏
《杏花天》，双调小令，五十四字，上下片各四句，四仄韵。此词长短句稍近《端正好》词，区别在于：《端正好》词六字句折腰；《杏花天》词六字句连为一气。
“蛮姜”两句，先述汤中调料。“蛮姜”、“豆蔻”都是调味佳品。此言将蛮姜、豆蔻放入汤中，使汤更为鲜辣、香气诱人，尝了这汤后，舌底如沐春风，令人经久难忘。“江清”两句，述汤的作用。言这汤汁清冽诱人，最能消解酒后的残醉，而汤中诱人的香气，使老病的词人闻到后，自觉病情稍减，竟能起床来想一尝鲜味。上片写汤中调料及汤的作用。
“停嘶骑”两句，写售汤之处。言汤香四溢，使男的停马留步，女的眉梢含意，过往行人都希望能尝尝这种香汤美味。而出售这种香汤的地方，记得就在东城边，每天凌晨摆设的小摊之中。“紫檀”两句，承上再赞摊中香汤。言紫檀色的香汤，不断地在锅中翻滚，就在数株垂杨下的小摊上不断散发出令人垂涎欲滴、断肠挂肚的香味来。下片重在赞香汤摊。
夏承焘笺：近人周泳先云：“宋人咏茶、咏汤各词，皆宴席进茶、进汤时所作，以付歌妓者。”此词有“记晓色东城梦里”当在妓家归来之作。可与《玉楼春·京市舞女》中“问称家住城东陌”句参看。

吴文英（约1200～1260），字君特，号梦窗，晚年又号觉翁，四明（今浙江宁波）人。原出翁姓，后出嗣吴氏。与贾似道友善。有《梦窗词集》一部，存词三百四十余首，分四卷本与一卷本。其词作数量丰沃，风格雅致，多酬答、伤时与忆悼之作，号“词中李商隐”。而后世品评却甚有争论。
