约公元九三O年前后在世字、里、生年不详死于925年五代时许州人，约后唐明宗长兴初前后在世，据当代学者考证，死于前蜀败亡之际。父魏宏夫，为蜀王建养子，赐姓名王宗弼，封齐王。承班为驸马都尉，官至太尉。国亡，与其父同时被杀。承班工词，艳丽似温庭筠，今存二十一首（见《唐五代词》）。 元遗山曰：魏承班词，俱为言情之作。大旨明净，不更苦心刻意以竞胜者。
