抱残守缺的典故
西汉著名文学家刘向的小儿子刘歆在汉哀帝时任骑都尉，奉车光禄大夫，他向汉哀帝建议派专人研究《左传》，同行十分不满意，他指责他们因循守旧，抱残守缺，最后被同行联合排挤出京城，只好去做河内郡太守。
这个成语的意思是抱着残缺陈旧的东西不放。形容思想保守，不求改进。
