衣锦还乡的典故

吴越武肃王钱谬早年家境贫寒、生活困窘，后来迫于生计始投身军旅，未想竟由此发迹，终致割据称王，占有吴越十三州土地，成为一方霸主。显贵后，他决定效仿汉高祖故事荣归故里，打算好好在家乡人面前炫耀一下。于是一面下令将家乡改命为“衣锦军”，并在故宅旧园基础上大修宫殿楼阁，穷极壮丽一时，另一面又召聚亲朋故旧、邻里乡人整日笙歌燕舞，欢宴不休，甚至于把自己幼时玩耍嬉戏的地方披上锦绣彩缎，表示不忘过去。他同时自鸣得意地令乡人四处传唱自己的《还乡歌》，以歌功颂德，家乡因此蔚为轰动，热闹非凡，人称当年汉高祖刘邦唱《大风歌》时也不过如此。
